Some couples are not in crisis. They still live in the same house. They still care. And they keep missing each other in ordinary moments — a question that lands as criticism, a pause that feels like withdrawal, an evening on the same couch with two separate inner worlds.
Three days will not fix your relationship. They will teach you how to work on it together.
The same house, separate rooms
Daily life works. The lifts are arranged, the accounts are paid, the weekend plans get made. From the outside, and often from the inside too, nothing is obviously wrong.
What has thinned is the warmth and the ease. One partner explains, carefully and at length, hoping to be understood. The other defends, or goes quiet. Neither of you is being difficult on purpose. The difficulty sits between you, in the space where you keep reaching and not quite landing.
So the same conversation gets postponed. Not because either of you has stopped caring, but because you both already know how it ends.
Missing each other is a pattern, not a verdict
When both partners still care and neither feels received, more talking usually does not help. It simply produces two longer monologues, each one more reasonable than the last, and each one landing in an empty room.
That is not a verdict on your relationship or on either of you. It is a pattern. And a pattern does not need a winner. It needs a shared method — a way of speaking and listening that both of you use, so that what one says is what the other actually receives.
What a weekend workshop actually is
Getting the Love You Want | Imago Couples Workshop. Presented in English.
Dates: 9–11 October 2026, Friday to Sunday, 09:00–18:00.
Venue: 218 Cornus Street, La Montagne, Pretoria.
Investment: R10,000 per couple.
This is an educational workshop, not group therapy. Couples work privately with their own partner throughout.
The weekend combines teaching, written exercises, live demonstrations and guided partner practice. At the centre of it is the Imago Dialogue: mirroring, validation and empathy.
The facilitator is Kobus van der Merwe, Certified Imago Relationship Therapist and Senior Faculty Member.

Who this is for
Couples who still care about each other but feel more like housemates. Couples who can predict the next sentence in the argument before it is spoken. Couples who are not in acute crisis, but who want to reconnect before the distance grows. Newly committed or preventive couples who want a shared method.
Couples in acute crisis may be better served by a Clarity Consultation or an Intensive.
A clear next step
Three days will not fix your relationship. They will teach you how to work on it together.
If this describes the two of you, look at the weekend together and decide as a couple.
